Baccarat

To truly immerse yourself in everything Las Vegas has to offer beyond world-class concerts, award-winning restaurants, and some of the best nightlife anywhere in the world, it is suggested that you learn how to play baccarat and win like an old pro.

If you want to sit at a Casino table game with little sophistication and a lot of gambling pleasure in the style of James Bond, Baccarat is the game to play. There are three possible outcomes: a player victory, a banker victory, or a tie, and the dealer does almost all of the work.

Participants can bet on the player's side, the "banker" (also known as the dealer), or a tie, depending on the situation. The face value of cards two through nine is their face value, but the face value of a ten, jack, queen, and king is zero. A thousand words are worth a thousand aces.

The dealer then distributes out the cards face up, two for each player and banker, and the winning hand is the one that gets closest to nine points. If you bet on the player's hand and it has the closest value to nine, the prize is simply double what you bet (as in the example above).

If you bet on the banker's hand and it wins, you'll get 95 percent of your money back. When the value of the cards dealt is greater than nine, add the two cards together and deduct one (or two) to determine the value of the cards.

Using the previous example, a hand of nine dealt cards plus seven dealt cards would total 16, and after deducting the initial number, the value in the game would be six.

Here are a few more baccarat guidelines to help you excel in your game:

  • If either the player or the banker gets dealt an eight or a nine as their final hand total, both stand.
  • If the player's total is fewer than five, he or she will be dealt another card to finish the game. Otherwise, the player will stay on the field.
  • If the player chooses to stand, the banker will hit if his total is 5 or less.
  • The final wagering option, a tie, pays out at an odds ratio of 8-to-1. Score sheets are also available at the table, making it easy to keep track of your progress.
